You know, the best meal I ever had was in Tanzania, in Gibb's Farm, off Lake Manyara. They grow the vegetables and fruit in the backyard, and it's organic. It was so healthy I would eat myself to death there. Unbelievable.

Gibb's Farm - WOW! What can I say?? We don't think our taste buds will ever be happy with anything else!! Organic food, over 90% grown there. Nice to have a CHOICE of veggie food too. Some good Guides and walks with lots of other options we didn't even take up as it was so nice to relax in the beautiful surroundings. ALL the staff were brilliant - the attention to detail was noticable with everybody taking responsibility for ensuring that everything was perfect. The cottage itself was complete luxury - I really didn't think I'd spend my most luxurious time of my life in Africa, but it would be hard to beat Gibb's Farm! Heidi & Ray April 2008

It. I love the stone detailing of the shower with the stone shelf for soap and shampoo and the option of the outdoor shower with the trees and sky overhead was truly unique. Our room was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in and the staff and food were perfect.
The stay at Gibbs was one of the highlights of our trip.

We had an incredible 24 hours at Gibb’s Farm. We arrived Friday around noon and were escorted to one of the “new cottages.” It was 1000+ sq. ft. – one of the most spacious and beautifully appointed hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom is larger than most NYC apartments! It included both and indoor and outdoor shower and there was a fireplace next to the indoor shower. I took lots of pictures – a few are attached and I’ll send you a CD with the others on my return.
The ambience is as I remembered it from 12 years ago, if not better. The grounds are extraordinarily beautiful and include a farm that raises fresh vegetables, pigs and chicken for the restaurant. I remember from 1997 that the food was the best we had in Africa and it did not disappoint on this go around.
The new ownership has added many features, including walking and bicycling visits to the local town. We took the bicycle option today and were accompanied by a very intelligent 27 year old Masai male guide (complete with traditional costume). It was market day – held once a month and it was straight out of medieval times. Thousands of people came from miles around to trade cows, goats, chicken, herbs and local remedies, pottery, etc., etc. It was fascinating to see.
